Simplon’s Felix Haag and his winning Leblon Granate
Simplon Bar’s Felix Haag was the winner of the 2012 Cane Trophy in Switzerland with his unique Leblon Granate. After earning a Master in Bartending, Wine & Spirits from Barschool in Rostock, Germany, Felix held several positions as a Bar Chef in Germany and Switzerland. Currently Felix is Bar Chef Assistant at Simplon Bar in Zurich, Switzerland, the “in-place” to relax and to enjoy a delicious cocktail.
For his Cane Trophy cocktail, Felix wanted to create a short drink, open to many tastes. “I have never tried the combination of pomegranate and vanilla bean before, but in this case together with the other ingredients and the smooth character of Cachaca Leblon it worked very well.”
Here is Felix’s Leblon Granate recipe:
1/4 pomegranate
1/2 vanilla bean
1cl Monin sugar cane syrup
1cl Grand Marnier
2cl Orangejuice
4cl Leblon Cachaca
Garnish: Pineapple, Mint Leave, Cocktail Cherry, pomegranate twist
